Tom has been involved for more than 40 years in the fine paper, copy center/print shop, data processing/computer supplies and barcode/labeling industries.
Early in his career, Tom accepted an outside sales rep position for a New England-based regional paper merchant (D.F. Munroe-Wilmington, MA). In December 1981, Tom started his own copier toner and paper distributorship called Northeast Toners, Inc. By 1998 the company had grown to several million in sales and Tom changed the company name to NTI Data Products, Inc. so that he could take advantage of the emerging computer supply industry. In 1998 Tom sold NTI (the first time) to a Cincinnati, OH-based public company named Miami Computer Supplies, Inc. (MCSI). NTI was the 7th of 34 companies that MCSI would go on to acquire...
In 2003 Tom was contacted by MCSI to see if he wanted to buy-back the NTI piece...which he did with the help of his former partner and some employees. In 2008 Tom negotiated the buy-outs of all his other partners and became the sole principal of the "reborn" NTI Data Products.
In August 2016, Tom sold NTI (the second time) to Columbia, MD-based Peak-Ryzex which is a portfolio holding of the Chicago-based private equity firm Keystone Capital (Note: CDA represented NTI Data Products in that transaction...see "Completed Transactions-Recent Tombstones" on this website menu).
Clients by Industry
Primary focus will be on Manufacturers and Distributors of label-related products, but in essence, any printed/converted paper-related products.
